Oceans Healthcare, a growing behavioral health care provider passionate about providing needed treatment to individuals, expanding access to care and speaking honestly about mental health, today announced the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of two new executives.
Maegan Bowman has been named Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Integration, and Karen Javine is now serving the company as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Together, Bowman and Javine bring four decades of leadership, strategy and operational experience to Oceans.
“As our behavioral health network continues to grow, so, too, has our need for dedicated leaders who can build on the operational foundation we’ve created and provide support and resources for our employees,” said Stuart Archer, CEO of Oceans Healthcare. “Maegan and Karen are both highly skilled and bring a wealth of health care expertise to our organization. We are fortunate to welcome them to our team.”
Bowman brings nearly 20 years of health care experience to her role. She will drive Oceans’ business and operational outcomes to ensure new facilities launch effectively and integrate smoothly into the company’s network of care providers. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. She also serves on the board of the Myhre Syndrome Foundation.
Javine has spent more than half of her 25-year human resources career in the health care industry. She is well versed in the challenges of attracting, retaining and engaging high-quality health care employees. Her career has focused on connecting employees’ passions with organizational missions and values. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Oceans continually aims to expand the number of individuals who have access to and coverage for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. In 2019, the company expanded its footprint into Biloxi, Mississippi, and Pasadena, Texas; worked with the Mississippi state legislature to ensure coverage for behavioral health care for at-risk citizens; enhanced program offerings for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients; and broke ground on two new facilities in Hammond, Louisiana, and Waco, Texas.
